Our Update

I feel like June is crawling by. Is that because I can't wait for July? Or is it because Aaron has been in school pratically all month? Aaron took the last of his classes that he needed to get his technology endorsement. He was in class Monday through Friday, all day long, for the past 3 1/2 weeks. He has loved his classes but we are both excited to have him really start summer.
Mattina Ann and AJ have been tutoring at the elementary school. This will be the last week and then they kind of get to have more of a summer too. We tried to get Tanner and Geremy into summer school but nobody would take them since they didn't really need it. We finally got one teacher to take Tanner for this last week of summer school. One week is better than nothing. Plus he'll be with the kids going into 2nd grade.
We spend almost every afternoon in the swimming pool. It's fun to hang out together as a family and cool off. The younger boys are doing so well. They have really shown improvement. Both can now swim across the pool in any direction without a life jacket. I keep thinking that if we ever move from here we'll have to find a place with a pool.
Mattina Ann had her second year of girls camp this past week. They went to Jacob's Lake and hiked the Grand Canyon. The hike was 7 1/2 miles instead of the 5 they were told it was going to be. She came home a little sore, but not bad. She had a great time.
Aaron got a new calling last week. He's now the music chair for our ward. He'll do a great job. It was interesting today because I always thought I'd stay on the stand and play the organ and leave Aaron with the kids. Today I realized that I get the kids now without his help. It worked well today and hopefully will continue that way. Mattina isn't looking forward to the weeks that I'm playing and Aaron is leading.
I'm keeping Aaron busy this week. We finally have started to tile our kitchen. Aaron started taking the current floor out so I started to help him. It's a lot harder than I originally thought. I now understand why Aaron was putting it off. We hopefully will be completly done on Saturday. We have a lot of work ahead of us this week.

Time is Flying

I can't believe how fast the last 2 months have gone by. Of course the end of the school year usually goes by fast. All the awards and concerts, programs and end of year parties. It is so much fun. Geremy is now going into Kindergarten (YEAH!!!) Tanner into first grade, (he got the teacher he wanted, Mrs. Spainhower) AJ is going to Tonaquint for 6th grade, and Mattina will go to middle school for 8th grade. How they are growing up.
I did a relief society night and demonstrated fun foods to make with children. I loved doing some research for this. I love to make things with my children. Everybody who watched it loved it and learned a lot. It was mentioned that I should have my own cooking show. I would probably do well at it. It was a lot of fun but I don't have time to do more than a demonstration every now and then. I did do the same foods at Aaron's class party and our children wanted to do it for home evening. We've all been enjoying this 1 night of relief society for weeks after.
This summer will continue to be busy. Aaron is finishing his technology endorsement, Mattina and AJ are doing some tutoring at summer school, Mattina will also have girls camp and youth conference. We've already been spending time in the pool. It's not real warm yet but the children love it. I'll wait until it warms up to get in.
The boys and Aaron got their summer hair cuts last week. The boys showed up the last day balled and Aaron got his after school was out. The last day of school Aaron had paint thrown at him by 5 students. Boy was he a mess. The studens really have a lot of fun at the end of the year. Aaron does too.
We plan to enjoy this summer and hopefully not get too busy. Most importantly, be safe and do things as a family.
